Whitburn celebrate parking ticket

Scottish champs ready for Open after gaining another winning Parking ticket.

Whitburn

The Scottish champion, Whitburn gave itself another boost ahead of it assault at the British Open next week by recently winning the Brass in the Park title again.

Rousing

Conducted by Andrew Duncan, the band played the beautiful hymn tune 'Reflections in Nature' by Robert Redhead before a rousing performance of William Rimmer's 'The Australasian' to finish two points ahead of runner-up Dalmellington.

Double win

The victory at Brass in the Park on August 30 was Whitburn's second contest win in a week, having won the Land O'Burns contest in Troon the previous Saturday.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The band is now looking forward to the British Open in Birmingham's Symphony Hall, where it will be conducted by euphonium virtuoso Steven Mead."
