The Clifton & Lightcliffe Band has just returned from a very successful trip to Lake Garda in Italy, where we played three concerts in the local area.
The band flew from Leeds/Bradford airport to Milan and were based in Garda a beautiful village on the lake side.
Appreciative
Secretary, Jane Clay told 4BR: "The first concert was at Brentonico which is a small village in the mountains, where the band performed to a very appreciative local Italian audience.
"The second concert was in Sirmione on the lakeside where they enjoyed their largest audience of well over 500. The final concert was in the Parco Sigurta."
Vineyard trip
The band also enjoyed trips to Venice and Verona where 20 of the group stayed on to see 'Aida' performed in the famous Arena, whilst many players also visited a vinyard with a tour and wine tasting which proved to be very popular!
Meanwhile Nick Walker and Mark Crisp had to have a quick turn round on their return as they were both invited to join the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain.
