The Shirland Welfare Training Band will now be known as Shirland Welfare Band with immediate affect.

Shirland Youth/Junior Band will still be known as Shirland Welfare Training Band.

Secretary Richard Whittle told 4BR: "It was felt by the committee that the band had moved on since being formed in the late 1990's and under the direction of Marie Smith had progressed better than expectation having been a first section band for the last two years.
