In recognition of the increasing success of their partnership launched in 2005 between the Black Dyke Band and Leeds Metropolitan University, Dr Nicholas Childs has been appointed a Visiting Professor, following an invitation from the University’s Innovation North Faculty.

Commenting on the appointment, Cath Orange, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of Innovation North told 4BR: “We are delighted that Nicholas Childs has accepted this appointment, which acknowledges his outstanding leadership qualities and status as an internationally recognised scholar within his genre of music.”
