The Band of West Mercia Constabulary has returned from a week's tour to Cornwall. The trip was an unqualified success and plans are already underway for another tour next year.
High standard
Despite the absence of a couple of key players, and the shock of a solo cornet player taken to hospital on the eve of our departure, the band played to a very high standard and succeeded in getting standing ovations at both the indoor concerts at The Beresford Hotel and St. Michael's Church, Newquay.

Raising funds
The afternoon concerts were affected by the weather to some extent, but the band managed to play for the full two hours at Truro whilst the Mayor of Truro's helpers collected for her selected charity. The joint concert with Newquay Male Voice Choir raised more than £600 for the RNLI.
