The Chalford Band recently wowed the audience at the Subscription Rooms in Stroud when MD Steve Tubb's masterminded a 'Top of the Pops' theme for their 2008 summer concert — a sizzler which had 'em rocking in the aisles.
Various guises
The players dressed up as in various guises from principal Andy Godwin as a tattooed Ossie Osmond, his assistant Dave Godwin as Elton John, and even some Bay City Rollers and the trombone section as the Blues Brothers!

Lots of pop classics were played to the obvious delight of the audience, including 'The Elvis Rocks' medley, Abba hits and a Tom Jones collection, whilst one of the biggest ovations was for a rapping session led by groovy Barnaby Witts (ex-bass player) who was joined by his dad Derrick, Steve and Amy Tubb with brass backing.
Cheeky Girls
The Chalford Youth Band also got in on the act, whose pop stars included Amy Winehouse and the Cheeky Girls, played some Beatles music, 'Ticket to Ride', 'Music' and the inevitable 'Amarillo'.
Meanwhile the Academy Brass started with the 'Floral Dance' and finished on Cliff Richard's 'Congratulations'.
There was even a novel quiz, which required guessing the tune and phrases played out of order and which had to be put in the correct order to win points. What a night!
