Pam Schryver, Events Producer for the Brisbane City Council’s Community Bands in the Park’ program, is about to stand down from the role which she has held for approximately 8 years since the programs inception in its current form.
The program has long been hailed word wide as one of the most forward thinking community projects and no one has served it better than Pamela Schryver.
Time to hand over
Pamela has recently been stricken with constant illness which has now been classified as terminal. The tough but fair woman of brass bands feels that now is the time to hand over the reins whilst she can still assist the new events producer Helen Hall and co producer Elizabeth Aitken.
The new 'guard'
Helen Hall is currently the president of the Brisbane Metropolitan Bands committee and has significant experience with events production because of her close association with Pam Schryver and the role she plays as president of the aforementioned committee.
She is thankful that the Brisbane City Council has been so forward thinking in its support for community groups, and for allowing her to be a part of providing entertainment throughout Brisbane’s parks.Pam Schryver.
Elizabeth Aitken has been a brass player for many years in one of Brisbane’s best known community bands and her background in this area will be of invaluable assistance to Helen Hall as she takes on a very big pair of shoes.
Pam says, "She is thankful that the Brisbane City Council has been so forward thinking in its support for community groups, and for allowing her to be a part of providing entertainment throughout Brisbane’s parks. The resulting benefits for the residents of this fine city has been enormous."
Pam advised 4BRDU that she would like to thank all those community groups that provided such fine entertainment and ambience throughout Brisbane each weekend.
