Sellers find home in Oz

Sellers International Band may be no more, but their uniforms have found a good home in Brisbane, Australia.

Brisbane

Following his appeal on 4BR for bands to come forward to see if they would like to take the uniforms of the former Sellers International Band off his hands, David Armitage has told 4BR that they have now found a new home — in Australia.

Australia bound

David said: "More than 30 bands contacted Sellers regarding the uniforms from all over the UK and one from overseas.

It was a hard decision to make but we have decided to offer them to the Brisbane Excelsior Band in Australia. I do thank everyone for their interestDavid Armitage

Hard decision

"It was a hard decision to make but we have decided to offer them to the Brisbane Excelsior Band in Australia. I do thank everyone for their interest."

Disappointing

One disappointing note following the article on 4BR however was that the remaining 16 uniforms of the band are still out there — having not been returned by frmer players.

David added: "I appeal to anyone who played with Sellers as members of this band or deps to have a good look and get them back to me. A fine band will be benefitting from your actions."
