Lostock and two barrels of fun

A great night out for the Lostock Band and former old players...

Lostock

Sunday night saw the return of a few old faces when the Lostock Hall Memorial Band and the Leyland Band joined forces to perform a concert at the Lostock Hall High School.

Former players

Both Leyland and Lostock have a few players in their ranks that started their playing careers at the high school, whilst Leyland also have one or two players that started at Lostock Band before moving onto Leyland.

National Finals

The concert was organised to celebrate the two bands reaching the National Finals in their respective sections.

The night was well attended and the audience were treated to performances from two bands who are currently in great form as well as some brilliant solo performances.

We would like to thank Leyland for a cracking night of entertainment and also John Doyle and the high school for being great hosts. We had a successful night enjoyed by allLostock Band

Flugel star

The Lostock Hall High School Band and the Lostock Hall Junior School Band also performed on the night before the concert and during the interval showed that brass is still as strong as ever in Lostock, as former Black Dyke flugel star John Doyle helped out by playing with them.

Cracking night

Lostock's chairperson Sarah Gardner told 4BR: "We would like to thank Leyland for a cracking night of entertainment and also John Doyle and the high school for being great hosts. We had a successful night enjoyed by all."
