The City of Chester Band has announced the death of one of its strongest supporters, David Else.

David has been fighting serious illness for some time, but still managed to participate in the recent training band tour. David was the driving force behind the successful lottery bid for funds for new main band instruments, and a long-term supporter of the training band — as both a playing member on trombone and an active supporter; donating the Vice President's Award aimed at encouraging newer band members.
