Alba Brass set for Durham

Tonight is the night if you want to hear one of Scotland's top brass quintets.

The Durham International Festival is serving up a treat this evening when the Alba Brass Quintet are playing as part of the event.

Premiere

The classical Ensemble will be serving up a light repertoire of music and entertainment — an ideal way to start or round off a cultural night out in Durham City.

Alba Brass will perform a mixture of contemporary classical brass music including the world premiere of a new piece by the renowned brass composer, conductor and French Horn player, Terry Johns.

Terry Johns will be present at the concert to introduce his new work, Le Cor.

The concert will also feature music by James MacMillan, Philip Wilby and Allen Vizzutti.
