Dr Stephen Allen has been appointed Professor of Euphonium at Rutgers University.

Dr. Stephen Arthur Allen has been appointed Professor of Euphonium at Rutgers Univeristy, the State University of New Jersey, USA.

This is a newly created position, and Steve will take it up in addition to his tenured professorship in Musicology at Rider University.

Humbled

Steve told 4BR that he was humbled and excited by the possibilities this opportunity has opened, and sees it as a recognition of the elevation of the euphonium in the world of music.

Direct

He continues to direct the Princeton Brass Band which he founded in 2004, directing them to third place in the Honors section of NABBA 2008, making it the first band in NABBA history to bring a trophy back to New Jersey.

Steve hopes to continue to serve the euphonium and the brass band movement through these activities and looks forward to having an impact on the next generation of musicians.
