The Foss Dyke Band has announced the resignation of their Musical Director John Davis who regretfully has to step down owing to increased commitments within his family business.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The band wish to thank John especially for all the hard work he has put in over the last year and he departs with the knowledge that Foss Dyke are considerably stronger in all aspects due to his leadership."

They added: "John states that he has enjoyed his brief time at Foss Dyke and knowing they are a talented bunch of musicians, leaves the path open for their next conductor to drive the standard on and progress even further."
