Making their Point

Point of Ayr Band respond to Christian departure.

Following the report on 4BR of the departure of Peter Christian as MD from the Point of Ayr Band, the band themselves has made a staement over the situation.

Statement

A spoksperson for the band informed 4BR: "The Point of Ayr Colliery Band would like to express their surprise at the recent press release by Peter Christian.

We all have the highest respect for Peter and many of the band regard him as a friend and of course a respected musician.

We have all been through these situations before where band and MD/Player has to part company. It is never easy.

We would also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Peter for the work he has done for the band, and wish him the very best of luck with his own band and anything else he does in the futurePoint of Ayr Band

Happy

We don't feel we should get involved in any tit for tat exchanges, but do wish to state that as a band we are happy that we and our Band Manager did everything possible to make the parting professional and amicable.

If however Peter feels we have handled things badly then we apologise unreservedly.

We would also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Peter for the work he has done for the band, and wish him the very best of luck with his own band and anything else he does in the future."
