Lions Youth Brass, under the direction of Nigel Birch, has announced their plans for the next few months.
Spain
In July they are off to Spain to play nine concerts in a week for Lions International Charities. The band are working are on some new music and their Musical Associate, David Thornton is assisting them, not just from a musical view, but also on presentation.
Following the tour the band will take a four-week summer break, and will resume with a workshop on 31st August with members of Foden Richardson Band.

Contest
The band will be holding its annual slow melody competition, on Saturday 4th October for all its players, including the beginner and junior sections, and David Thornton will be adjudicating.
At the end of October the band will produce its latest recording before preparing for The Tameside Youth Contest with Richard Evans. Finally, on the 6th December, the band are holding a percussion workshop under the guidance of Simonne Robello.
Best opportunities
Nigel told 4BR: "I have always regarded it my remit to provide my players with the best opportunities I can, and by bringing to the band the people previously mentioned I think I am achieving that aim. The organisation are looking forward to all the above mentioned projects with great enthusiasm."
