Countdown to Hebden Heritage weekend

Only a week or so to go to the Hebden Bridge Heritage weekend.

It’s only two weeks until the first Hebden Bridge Heritage Weekend on 28th and 29th June. This weekend promises to be a magnificent two days of brass with a Heritage Gala Concert and March contest for all to enjoy.

Mortimer

Performing at the Gala Concert on the Saturday will be Hebden Bridge Band with guest soloist Phillip McCann. The programme of music will celebrate the band’s strong connections with the Mortimer family.

Contest

The weekend continues on Sunday, with the first Hebden Bridge Heritage March and Hymn Contest. Twelve bands will perform in the picturesque town of Hebden Bridge. The competition will commence at 1.45pm and will be a great fun for all the family to enjoy.

Great weekend

Ian Plant, Band Cairman, told 4BR: "We are delighted to be holding this event in Hebden Bridge, a town with a rich banding history going back more than 150 years. The gala weekend will be a fantastic addition to the brass band calendar and will be a great weekend with lots of fun had by both players and spectators."

Tintwistle Band

July 28 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd horn player to complete our horn section. We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
