Cawston plan ahead

The Cawston Band are planning ahaed it seems for a busy few months.

Cawston

With the contest season behind them Norwich based Cawston Band are now looking forward to a busy summer with several highlights.

First will be an all day rehearsal with Richard Evans, who will be taking Cawston through their paces for the day, working on several pieces to be used later in the year.

In memory

Then on Saturday 14th June, Cawston Band will be performing a Charity Concert in memory of former player, Chairman and Secretary, John Royston.

John joined Cawston in the late sixties and remained with the band for over 30 years. In addition, for many years he was also the Treasurer of the East Anglian Brass Band Association and was very well known on the Brass Band circuit.

It may be busy year for the band, but hard work and self-motivation is what the band thrives onCawston Band

Events

But the largest event for Cawston is on Saturday 19th July, when the band will once again stage their Proms on the Pitch Concert in what promises to be a vibrant, lively and impressive night.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "It may be busy year for the band, but hard work and self-motivation is what the band thrives on. To end the summer in style the band is returning to the recording studio to produce their second CD."
