Stanhope help with book launch

Stanhope Band are giving a helping hand to Brass Band Aid with the forthcoming book launch of 'The Heritage of North East Brass Bands'.

Stanhope Band will perform a concert at Bethany Christian Centre, Houghton-le-Spring this Saturday to help promote Dennis Taylor's newly released book, "The Heritage of the North East Brass Band".

Proceeds

Dennis is the only bandsman to hold the Master of Music Degree at Durham University, and has kindly offered proceeds from his book to the Brass Band Aid Charity.

Conductor of Stanhope Band Steve Robson told 4BR: "This is a fantastic gesture from Dennis. He is a wonderful gentleman with a lifetime of achievement in the band movement and his support of Brass Band Aid is so generous. I am delighted that Stanhope Band have been asked to be a part of the book launch and we are very much looking forward to the concert."

New march

As part of the concert Dennis Taylor, who is also a Vice President of the National Association of Brass Band Conductors, will conduct a new march "The Weardale Way" which he composed specially for the occssion.
