New MD at Soundhouse

Ken Cassidy is the new man for a very busy Soundhouse band.

Soundhouse Brass has announced the appointment of Ken Cassidy as thier Bandmaster in readiness for life in the First Section, and for the upcoming Bugle contest.

Well known

Ken is well known in banding circles and is looking forward to using his professional skills to continue the development of the band.

Meanwhile, the band recently performed a Spring concert entitled "May Magic" to a capacity sell out audience in Plymouth, featuring it's resurgent youth band (under the direction of Emma Heard) and the Sterts Singers from Cornwall.

The Band is also about to release details of it's new "Friends of Soundhouse Brass" to enable it's many friends from around the country to support the band in these exciting times, details of which can be found on its' web-site, www.soundhousebrass.co.uk

Meanwhile, the band are sorry to see Louise Roberts vacate her repiano position due to a move back to her home town after 3 years with band. However the band welcomes back Ian and Emma on solo trombone and flugel after a short spell away and thanked Michelle Hudson (ex-Bodmin Town) who did a fantastic job for the band on flugel over the past weeks.

Wakefield Metropolitan Brass Band

November 23 • Bb Cornet, Euphonium, Eb Bass and Percussion required to complete the line-up.. Under the Direction of Duncan Beckley, the band is keen to fill these few remaining seats.


Bilton Silver Rugby Band

November 22 • Bilton Silver (Rugby) requires a cornet player to join our Championship Section band (Position negotiable). Under MD Brad Turnbull we have a varied programme of events. Rehearsals are held on Monday and Friday at 7-45pm in our own purpose built bandroom.


Besses o'th' Barn Band

November 21 • Under the direction of David W Ashworth, we are making every effort to complete the rebuild of this very famous brass band. We require one kit and one tuned percussionists plus one Back Row Cornet to complete our line up for the North West Area Contest.
