The first rehearsal of the Northern Youth Brass Band is approaching fast, but organisers Ray Farr and Steve Robson are still seeking a few more players to swell the ranks of the massed band, who will perform on the fantastic stage of Hall 1 at the Sage Gateshead on Sunday 29th June.
Great response
Steve Robson told 4BR: "We have had a great response but would like to hear from a few more brass players from the north, particularly if you happen to play Soprano Cornet, Eb Horn, Baritone or Bass Trombone."
Fabulous opportunity
Steve added: "This is a fabulous opportunity for young players in the North. There is still time to register for the band, by contacting me on robson@lingriggs.wanadoo.co.uk
We can accommodate most brass instrumentalists, but we need you to get in touch quickly. Sadly we can’t take any further applications from percussion players for this venture."

Great occassion
Steve concluded: "This will be a great occasion for all the young musicians, so we are hoping all music lovers in the area will come along to show their support for our young people, and help Brass Band Aid in their efforts to build a school for less fortunate young people in Adet, Ethiopia."
