The Aberystwyth Band has said goodbye to one of its members who has left the band after completing their studies at Aberystwyth University.
Departure
The band previously announced the departure of its Eb Bass player, David Holmes just before Easter and on the 24th of May wished a fond farewell to two further members, Graham Brand, on tenor horn and Richard White, percussion at its Annual Band Dinner.
Graham has been a loyal member to the band throughout his tenure, previously having played for Llay Welfare Band.

Busy
After completing his Bachelors degree in biochemistry he is returning home to Wrexham. In addition, the band also said goodbye to Richard who has completed his Bachelors degree in Biology and likewise is returning home to Gloucester.
Although Richard has only been a member of the band for just over a year, this last year for the Band has undoubtedly been one of the busiest in its history, having recorded a CD entitled "Aberystwyth" and performing at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff, whilst fulfilling the band's prominent role in Aberystwyth ceremonial events.
Aber Prom
Honorary Members Chairman, Peter Henley and Vice Chairman, John Davies presented Graham a tankard and Richard a signed copy of Peter's book entitled "Aber Prom" which is full of illustrations and explores the history of music locally (featuring of course the brass band) and its links with entertainment on the promenade from its inception 200 years ago.
Distinction
Matthew Ruel from the band told 4BR: "Both Graham and Richard received a framed certificate awarding them both the distinction of honorary member in appreciation and recognition of services to the band."
