Composer informs 4BR of errata list on his 'Malcolm Arnold Variations' test.

Martin Ellerby has informed 4BR of the official errata list for his test piece 'Malcolm Arnold Variations' which is to be played this weekend at Cambridge.

Errata list at 21st May 2008:


1: Bar 72 2nd Horn last quaver C# not D#

2: Bar 107 time signature of 2/4 missing

3: Bar 287 Soprano first note C not B

4: Bar 335 1st Trombone 2nd beat quaver G not F

5: Bar 337 1st Trombone 2nd beat quaver G not D

6: Bars 353 & 354 E flat Basses 2nd quaver both bars A not G

7: bar 387 Tutti Horns dynamic at entry f (fortissimo)

8: Bar 388 all parts with two semiquavers at end of bar should have crescendo sign leading into fz or fp in following bar

9: Bar 389 time signature of 4/4 missing

10: Bar 401 2nd Cornet second quaver B# not A#

11: Bar 414 Euphonium add fz on first quaver

12: Bar 487 Soprano add ff sign at start of bar followed by diminuendo sign to end of bar

13: Bar 501 BB flat Basses ONE player only: 2nd player re-enters in next bar (at f dynamic)

14: Bar 503 BB flat Basses ONE player only: 2nd player re-enters in next bar

15: Bar 505 BB flat Basses add ‘both’ text

16: Bar 509 E flat & BB flat Basses add ‘both’ text on second beat unisons

Additions 22nd May 2008

17: Bar 21 Euphonium notes should be a tied over semibreve from previous bar. The triplet figure at the end of the bar is wrong and not to be included

18: Bar 264 Euphonium: the two grace notes should be D & E not E & F#
