Carlton Main Frickley has announced some new signings ahead of their assault at the All England Masters this weekend.

Welcome

They welcome Rhiannon Davies to their horn section. Rhiannon is the Director of Music and Housemistress of the prestigious Ackworth School and is a gifted pianist, string player and singer.

She is returning to banding after many years of supporting her husband Jim, the virtuoso cornet soloist of Brighouse and Cory fame.

Rhiannon was taught by Gordon Higginbottom and Roy Newsome and played for the Point of Ayr Band at the height of their success in the early 90s.

Jim has also been coaxed into playing flugel for the band in Cambridge as a last minute dep for their flugel player who is undergoing hospital treatment.
