Lawrence in Cannes

Composer Phil Lawrence has been rubbing shoulders with the shiny people in Cannes of late...

Lawrence

Composer Phil Lawrence was in Cannes this week as part of the famous film festival where he was invited a concert where some of his film music was to be performed.

He was also in town for the film festival with his new film S.N.U.B.

Famous guest

The charity Roundtable concert was in aid of disabled children, and what Phil didn't know was that he was to guest alongside Michael Jackson's son Cedric who lives just an hour away in Monaco.

The concert featured music from the movies, as well as in honour of Cedric and his famous Father, "Thriller".

Cedric was very attentive throughout the whole concert and he said that he had enjoyed my piece as it was quite different from the other blockbuster offeringsPhil Lawrence

Chuckled

Phil told 4BR: "I inwardly chuckled, as I had also arranged 'Thriller' for brass band myself. Cedric was very attentive throughout the whole concert and he said that he had enjoyed my piece as it was quite different from the other blockbuster offerings."

Funny thing

One funny thing did happen just before the concert started however as Cedric was wearing a black hat and head bandanna (much like his father), when a portly gentleman of some 70 years of age came up to him and told him to remove his hat in a rather loud bark stating that he had no respect as the concert was in a church."
