Rushen Silver Band on the Isle of Man has announced that they will be holding a workshop weekend this weekend with tenor horn star Melvyn Bathgate.
The weekend will culminate with a concert Peel Cathedral.
Principal horn
Melvyn spent many years as the principal horn of the BNFL/Leyland, Grimethorpe Colliery and most recently, Brighouse & Rastrick bands. He is also tenor horn tutor at many of Britian's universities and music colleges.
Culmination
Thomas Sinden from the band told 4BR: "The concert will be the culmination of a 4-day visit to the Island which will see Melvyn working with players from the band on both an individual and group basis as well as providing a master class for the band on Sunday afternoon."
