The two bands that go forward to the British Open in September from the Grand Shield are Leyland and BTM.

The four bands relegated from the Grand Shield to the Senior Cup are: Staffordshire, Burry Port Town, Freckleton and Newstead Brass.

Senior Cup

The four bands replacing them from the Senior Cup are: EYMS, Bactiguard Wire Brass, Jaguar (Coventry) and Pemberton Old Wigan JJB.

Senior Trophy

With Glossop Old withdrawing in advance of the contest just three bands are relegated to the Senior Trophy are: Besses o' th' Barn, Lindley, Kingdom Brass and with Knottingley Silver gaining a reprive.

The four bands replacing them from the Senior Trophy are: Powerfuel Hatfield Colliery, SWT Woodfalls, Marsden Silver Prize (Osserr Brewery) and United Co-op Crewe.

Once again with two withdrawals in advance of the contest, it is just four bands instead of the familiar six bands having to sweat it out to see if they are invited back next year are: Old Silkstone, Newtongrange, Friary Guildford, Yorkshire Co-op with Mossley and Newbridge Celynen holding on to their places.
