The set pieces for the 2008 Swiss National Championships have been announced following a meeting of the of the Swiss Brass Band Association.

Titan's Progress

Interest will centre around the choice of 'Titan's Progress' as the top section work, whilst the Swiss have continued their policy of inviting new works to be produced in the lower sections, with a brand new composition from Stefan Hodel to be used in the Second Section.

They are as follows:

Championship Section:
Set test: Titan's Progress (Hermann Pallhuber)
Own choice: free choice, no transcriptions

First Section:
Set test: Dances and Arias (Edward Gregson)

Second Section:
Set test: commission for a new work to Stefan Hodel

Third Section:
Set test: Legenda Rumantscha (Oliver Waespi)

Fourth Section:
Set test: Petit Suite de Ballet (Eric Ball)
