Saturday dawns and the competition to become the 2008 European Brass Band Champions is up for grabs.

Brass Blot

Yesterday saw each of the 11 bands produce high class performances of the set work ‘Brass Blot’ – a test piece that was well received by the enthusiastic audience as well as the vast majority of the performers. It has been a work that has grown on people the more they have heard it.

Consensus

Talking to people in the bars and hotels after the contest finished, the general consensus seems to be that Cory are leading the field at present.

Their thrillingly detailed performance seemed to be the most comprehensively secure of the afternoon and evening, and it could well give them that all important edge as they prepare for own choice section of the contest this afternoon.

Alder Valley Brass
