Fireys to set Europe ablaze

The New South Wales Fire Brigades Band travels to Europe next month.

NSW Fire Brigades band

The N.S.W Fire Brigades Band and Precision Drill Marching Team have been invited to Austria to participate in "Blasmusikfestival" International Brass Band Festival.

The event is to be held during June/July 2008 in Bruck an der Mur Austria.

It is understood that the band will be the first group outside of Europe to be invited to this festival.

Music Director, Mark Reay has led the band for the past 25 years. During this time the band has gained an international reputation for entertaining crowds of all ages with a mix of popular music,
choreography, precision drill marching and humour.

The band has thrilled audiences right across Australia and has toured to the United States, Canada and China.

Band Executive Officer Ian Anderson is pulling out all stops to ensure this tour runs smoothly with maximum impact.

While on tour, the band will also perform in Vienna and Salzburg.

If you can't make it to any of the live performances, don't be concerned, just open a window and you will probably hear them!
