The 2nd Rossendale Scout Group Band will this weekend travel to Windsor by Royal Appointment.
The band from Bacup in Lancashire have been invited to perform alongside the band of the Welsh Guards in the quadrangle of Windsor Castle at a parade to mark St Georges Day in the presence of HRH Duke of Kent.
A service in St Georges Chapel will then be held before the young players from Bacup lead the parade out through th streets of Windsor.

Great Adventure
The evening before (Sat 19th) will see the band perform in the parish church of Windsor situated on the High Street adjacent to the Guild Hall.
The band’s composer in association, Rodney Newton will also be in present and will conduct the band through two movements of his symphony ‘The Great Adventure’ commissioned for the centenary of the Scout Movement.
Great honour
Speaking to 4BR about the weekend, the Scout Band's MD Graham Helm said; "All the young people feel it is a great honour to perform in the quadrangle of Windsor Castle and have put a great deal of rehearsal into this weekend. I feel sure they will prove great ambassadors of young people and brass banding alike."
