Results: SCABA Spring Contest

Fairlop take head the prize winners at Hove — amid April snow showers!

Fairlop

The SCABA Spring Contest was held in Hove on Sunday 6th April, and according to their press officer was anything but a ‘Spring’ Contest.

Snow

They told 4BR: "There could not have been more snow if it was held in the middle of January. The first draw could not take place at the scheduled time as only one band was present and they had stayed locally overnight! It was known that all of the others were on a road ‘somewhere’."

Credit

Eventually Band Number One took to the stage some 45 minutes late and the organisers didn’t look back. All credit and appreciation must go to the bands who drove through some truly treacherous conditions to reach the Town Hall in Hove but all runners and riders made it to the start-gate.
