Hopkins Blidworth Welfare has announced the appointment of Kevin Steward as permanent MD of the band.

Secretary Karen Cretney told 4BR: "We had been working with Sid for a couple of weeks leading up to the area contest and even though we "had a bad day at the office" it was only a couple of weeks before the contest that we were thinking of pulling out. Thanks to the hard work and determination of Sid we turned it around."

Karen also took the opportunity of thanking Simon and Alex Kerwin for their continued support over the last few months. "Without your help we don't know where we would have been," she said.
