The Shrewton Silver Band has announced the death of their Principal Cornet Alan Dunford.

Inspirational

Alan spent a short but successful time with SWT Woodfalls, and when his brother Michael took up the baton at Shrewton Alan returned and has been inspirational in the bands huge success, culminating in their third qualification to the National Finals in the last five years.

Alan was the band joker and a character that was loved by all the local bands. he has bought pleasure to thousands, and with his circular breathing, anyone that heard his Post Horn Galop, will never forget itMD Mike Dunford

Shrewton MD Mike Dunford told 4BR: "Alan was the band joker and a character that was loved by all the local bands. he has bought pleasure to thousands, and with his circular breathing, anyone that heard his Post Horn Galop, will never forget it.

Alan had a very bad heart and peacefully passed away Saturday 29th March, he will be sadly missed by all his brass band friends especially Shrewton Silver Band."
