The Annual General Meeting of the Southern Counties Amateur Bands Association, (SCABA) took place on Sunday 30th March in Godalming.
Jane Waldron was elected as Contest Manager. Jane has been assisting the current Contest Manager, Ian Carter, for the last twelve months to help alleviate the pressures on him. Ian will continue as Association Secretary.
Pleased
Jane said she was very pleased to be elected and looked forward to the challenges that lay ahead.
The meeting congratulated Matthew Ruel who is the Association Web Master on the web-site award he won during the last twelve months. It was agreed that the web-site should be used as the main communication method as much as possible in the future at www.scaba.co.uk
Workshop
It was announced that the annual workshop this year will be for conductors. It will be led by Dr. Robert Childs and held in the Cranleigh Bandroom on Sunday 23rd November. Prospective participants can register their interest with the Events Organiser, Andy Wilson via the web site.
The next SCABA contest will be the Spring Contest at Hove Town Hall on Sunday 6th April which will be followed by the Entertainment Contest at The Hawth, Crawley on 18th May4BR
