Results: 2008 Oz Champion of Champions

The Australian Junior and Open Champion of Champions solo competition took place today in Brisbane.

Ashley Gittins, Principal Euphonium for Brisbane Excelsior, was a clear winner in the Champion of Champions held this evening in Brisbane City Hall.

Adjudicators Stephen Roberts from the UK and Peter Adams from New Zealand were highly impressed with the way Ashley performed Glorious Liberation — communicating and connecting with the audience, with musicianship and command.

Josh Rogan from Boroondara won the Junior Champion of Champions, and played twice in the final having won both the Junior Soprano and Junior Bb Cornet events.

September 5 • We are looking for FLUGEL player to join our highly motivated 4th section band. We are a very welcoming and sociable band, with a positive outlook and a reasonably busy calendar of engagements. Other enquiries are welcome.

September 2 • 2nd Trombone position has become vacant as current holder off to University. Rehearsals Mondays and Wednesday at Rushden Hall. RTB is a friendly 1st Section band who have recently come back from their second tour abroad and also released their first CD.
