The Bristol Easton Salvation Army Corps (Church) is opening its doors to thirty youngsters between the ages of 10 and 13 who want to try their hand at learning to play a brass instrument.
Music Club
The church is holding a free music club from Monday April 7th to Friday 12th from 2 pm till 4 pm at its premises in Hassell Drive, St Philips Causeway.
During this time expert players with the Easton Salvation Army Band will seek to pass on their skills and are planning to present a grand finale concert involving the youngsters at the end of their week’s tuition.

Best known
The Bristol Easton Band has long been one of the Salvation Army’s best-known bands having undertaken several foreign tours. Two of the instructors, Anthony Smith and Nathan Cole, are members of the worldwide church and charity’s premier band: The Salvation Army’s International Staff Band.
"Whenever the Band go out into the streets or present a concert, there are lots of children who want to have a blow," Major Paul Doust told 4BR who is in charge of the Easton Corps. "This will give them a real chance either to learn or to develop any existing skills in a safe environment and with experts offering their own skills free of charge."
Limited places
Places for the music club are limited to just 30. Each youngster will have the exclusive use of a brass instrument ranging from a cornet right through to a tuba, and there will also be opportunity for instruction in percussion.
