Blackburn end 14 year wait

The Blackburn & Darwen Band recently ended 14 long years of waiting by winning a place at the Harrogate Finals in September.

Blackburn

Blackburn and Darwen Band are celebrating a fantastic second place at the recent North West Regional Championships.

Exciting

The band can in large part attribute their success to their Musical
Director, Nick Sheppard who crafted an exciting and dramatic interpretation of 'James Cook, Circumnavigator', especially in light of adjudicator Chris Wormald praising the bands that paid more attention to the character of the music rather than doggedly sticking to tempo markings.

The band will now join Roberts Bakery in representing the North West at the National Finals, and it will be Blackburn & Darwens' first visit to the finals for 14 years4BR
