The Eagley Band are delighted to have qualified for the Lower Section national finals in Harrogate in September.
The Bolton band came runner up out of a tough field of 20 bands in the Third Section at Blackpool last Sunday.
I’m so proud of the band. They performed brilliantly on stage and thoroughly deserved to finish in the top two. Now the real work beginsMD Gareth Westwood
Incredible achievement
"It’s an incredible achievement," said delighted Band Chairman, Lee Tramontana to 4BR. "The band deserve it for all the work and effort that goes into competing and to come second is absolutely fantastic!"
Eagley, now based in Blackrod, have not qualified for the National Finals for 18 years.
MD Gareth Westwood told 4BR: "I’m so proud of the band. They performed brilliantly on stage and thoroughly deserved to finish in the top two. Now the real work begins."
Thanks
Eagley took the opportunity to thank Gareth for his hard work in preparing the band for Blackpool and also Grenville Moore, who took over the baton the week before the contest and conducted the band on stage. The band is now busy preparing a challenging programme for their forthcoming engagements.
