Diamond result for Lostock

Lostock Hall Memorial Band has had a wonderful recent Diamond Anniversary present.

Lostock Hall

Lostock Hall Memorial Band could not have asked for a better way to start off their Diamond Anniversary Year celebrations.

After coming second at the Brass at the Guild contest earlier in the year a repeat placement has seen them qualify for the National Finals in the Fourth Section at Harrogate after coming second at Blackpool.

And to put the icing on the celebration cake it looks as though promotion to the Third Section has also been achieved.

Great to be a part

Amid the celebrations in Blackpool on Sunday, MD John Woods told 4BR: "It is great to be part of the band at such an exiting time, not only the contest results, but also to be part of the 60 Year celebrations."

At the bands AGM held on Monday night, plans to commemorate the anniversary were started and include a possible Reunion Concert and CD recording.

Busy year

Chairperson Sarah Gardner stated that she was looking forward to a very busy year, which in addition to the anniversary now include planning for the trip to Harrogate.

"We have been through some difficult times in recent years but the hard work from the band is now paying off on both the contest stage and in the rehearsal room."
