Wingates accept Masters invite

Wingates accept invitation to play at Masters at Cambridge in May.

Wingates has confirmed to RBR that they have accepted the invitation from Philip Biggs to play at the 2008 All England Masters in Cambridge on 25th May.

MD Andy Berryman told 4BR: "The band are honoured to accept and look forward to carrying on the form that earned them second place at Butlins in January."

It also means extra work for the players with the Grand Shield, Whit Friday and Cambridge all on consecutive weekends but the band are excited to be involved and look forward to traveling to Cambridge for the weekendPromotions Manager Graeme Hall

Moving forward

Graeme Hall, Wingates Promotions Manager added: "This is another indication that Wingates are moving forward under Andy's leadership. It also means extra work for the players with the Grand Shield, Whit Friday and Cambridge all on consecutive weekends but the band are excited to be involved and look forward to traveling to Cambridge for the weekend."

Recording

The band had planned a recording on the same weekend but this has already been rearranged. However, the new CD will still be available for launch at the Great Northern Brass Arts Festival in September.
