Delegates throughout the Midlands made the journey, last Saturday, to the Honiley Court Convention Centre, Warwick for the National Lottery funding seminar organised by the West Midlands Brass Bands Association.

Leading the seminar was Carole Crompton and David Hirst both having experience of succesful Arts funding, particularly Carole, who is Head of Arts for Bolsover District Council.

The seminar dealt with a number of funding issues such as finding sources of funding, funding proposals and schemes, and how to apply for Arts funding.

With a full to capacity conference room Carole told 4BR: "We had a great response from the representatives today, many of whom needed answers to particular problems they had encountered when applying for funding."

David Hirst added, "The day was superbly organised by Greta Russell and her team at WMBBA and hope we have been able to help their member bands achieve the funding they require."
