Stockport Brass (formerly the BT Band) has welcomed some new additions to the band ahead of the forthcoming North West area championship.
Thomas Swatland who hails from Norway where he played for Kleppe Musikklag joins on solo trombone. Since moving to England to study at Salford University he has spent some time playing for the Leyland Band.
Meanwhile Matt Blunt, a student at Chetham’s School of Music joins on Eb bass, replacing Edd Leech who has left to concentrate on his final year studies at the RNCM.

Welcome new aditions
Following the departure of Phil Sharples, who had to leave due to increasing work commitments, the band also welcome Claire Mumford on flugel. Claire joins from Besses o’ the Barn Band, and is a graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire.
A band spokespersopn told 4BR: "We are delighted to welcome these new additions to the band, and look forward to our first area contest competing as Stockport Brass."
