The Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band has announced that further to previous press and media releases, Derek Broadbent has not accepted the position as Musical Director with the band.

Unfortunate

Nigel Dixon told 4BR: "We were unfortunately, somewhat hasty in making the initial announcement as negotiations, although at first completed and agreed, were then re-appraised by us, and hence, were no longer suitable to all parties."

It is hoped that the band and Derek will continue a musical relationship on a professional basis in the future, and we can only offer our apologies for any inconveniences causedNigel Dixon
