Not to be outdone by their friends in the North – Nottinghamshire will also host a concert to feature all the test pieces to be used at the Midlands Regional Brass Band Championships.

The event is be hosted by the Newstead Brass Organisation and will be at Newstead Welfare and Community Centre on Sunday 24th February.

This is following on from the success of last year's event which had a capacity audience throughout the evening.

Bands featured

The bands to be featured this year are the Fourth Section Rolls Royce Derby, Third Section Newstead Abbey Brass, Second Section Long Eaton and First Section Wigston. Newstead Brass will peform the top section test piece 'Festival Music'.

The services of Barry Thompson have been secured to report on each performance to the audience and to provide detailed notes for each of the bands.
