Pilling Junior Band recently held their annual awards ceremony and disco where over 200 children, parents and friends in attendance all enjoyed themselves to the full.

The ever growing band has players in Lancashire Youth and Concert bands, Yorkshire Youth, and last year had five players in the National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain.

Prize winners

The main prize winners this year were Musician of the Year Hannah Parkinson with runner up, Patrick Callery. The most improved player of the Year was Anthony Cockbain with runner up Samantha Williams.

Intermediate Band Player of the Year was Kathleen Woods whilst cornet player of the Year and winner of a Virtuosi cornet generously donated by Shawn Pagington at First Brass, was James Barnett.
