Plymouth Soundhouse Brass announce four new signings.

Soundhouse

Plymouth Soundhouse Brass has announced the signing of four players.

Joining the band on Eb Bass is former Royal Marine Musician Andy Embury, who joins after a period playing with the Totnes Band.

Chuffed

Another new member of the bass section is Derek Roberts, who joins on Bb Bass and has played with both Bodmin and Torbay bands in the past.

The band reports its is 'chuffed to bits' that they have been able to tempt out of 'retirement' Brian Rogers and Ken Cassidy who join on horn and bass trombone.

The signing of these quality players, coupled with the existing talent around the stand gives the band real hope of doing well at the upcoming Area Contest at TorquayVice Chairman Emma Heard

Rekindled love

Brian has admitted that his return to the brass band fold with Soundhouse has rekindled his love of the hobby whils Ken has a number of championship bands on his CV and Soundhouse see it as a major coup to secure his services as a player.

Emma Heard, vice-chairman told 4BR: "The signing of these quality players, coupled with the existing talent around the stand gives the band real hope of doing well at the upcoming Area Contest at Torquay."
