Double celebrations for Lostock Hall

Lostock Hall has been celebrating a double on the weekend.

There have been double celebrations at Lostock Hall after this weekend after the band picked up second prize in the Third Section at the Brass at the Guild Contest in Preston and also announced the appointment of John Woods as their new MD.

New MD

John had taken the band over the Christmas period and also at the Preston contest and has accepted the invitation from the band to become their new MD.

After the contest John stated that he was delighted with the result and impressed by the efforts of the band was pleased to accept the MD`s position.

We are now looking forward to the areas in Blackpool and hope the success continues. We would also like to thank the two borrowed players that assisted us on the daySarah Gardner, Lostock Hall

Band effort

Band Chairperson, Sarah Gardner, added that the result on Sunday was both a reflection on Johns experience and the efforts of the band in rehearsals on the run up to the contest.

She told 4BR: "We are now looking forward to the areas in Blackpool and hope the success continues. We would also like to thank the two borrowed players that assisted us on the day."
