Two local brass bands, Arrow Valley and Shipston Town are to give a joint concert, in which they will be joined by the soprano Sue Troth, in aid of the appeal to assist the families of the firefighters killed in the blaze at Atherstone in November.

The concert will be held at Stratford Civic Hall in April and will be compered by David Biddle and the conducting shared by Howard Gibbs and David Stanley.

On behalf of the bands David Stanley told 4BR: "The two bands are good friends and we felt that a joint concert would be a good way of showing our concern in the aftermath of this tragedy together with our appreciation of those killed and of their colleagues and our concern for their families.

We hope to put on a concert in celebration of them and to recognise what they undertake on our behalf."
