Besses Boys Band has announced the signing of three new players to their ranks.
Jay Abbott has joined on the soprano chair and James Harris has taken up the position of solo euphonium, both join from the Blackley Band and are currently studying Music at the University of Salford.

Old friend
The band have also secured the services of Paul Ollerenshaw on Bb Bass. Paul, previously of Hazel Grove Band had taken some time out from banding to focus on his education but was only too pleased to return to banding when he received a call from an old friend.
He told 4BR: "I used to go to school with James (MD) and was only too pleased to help him out when the call came."
Delight
MD James Holt told 4BR: "I'm delighted that the band has been able to secure the service of three quality players which can only improve the bands preperations for the upcoming area contest. All three have vast playing experience and I am very much looking forward to working with them."
All three players will make their playing debuts with the band at the North West Area contest at the Winter Gardens Blackpool.
