Cardiff Canton Band are celebrating their 125th anniversary this year.

Cardiff Canton Band of The Salvation Army is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year with a series of concerts and activities throughout 2008.

The first of which is a joint band festival of brass to be held in Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff this Saturday evening 9th February.

With other concerts and fund raising activities planned throughout 2008 this will prove to be a busy but successful year for the members of Canton BandMajor Corps Officer Ian McBride

More events

More events will follow including a band reunion weekend in April, a joint concert with the Cory Band in November and culminating in a concert tour to California in December and January 2009.

Major Corps Office Ian McBride told 4BR: "With other concerts and fund raising activities planned throughout 2008 this will prove to be a busy but successful year for the members of Canton Band."
